With October being National Dental Hygiene Month, we wanted to give you a refresher course on how to keep your pearly whites nice and healthy. Dental Hygiene is crucial to not only maintaining a beautiful smile but for overall longevity.
Here are some tips to keep the cavities and gum disease from occurring:
Brushing your teeth at least twice a day for 2 minutes each time.
Use a toothbrush that reaches the back of your mouth safely with a soft-bristled brush. Even better – an electric toothbrush will be even more effective.
Flossing after you eat or at least everytime you brush can rid your mouth of plaque that can build up and cause damage to your teeth and gums.
Using mouthwash after you brush to rid your mouth of extra bacteria.
Brushing your tongue to keep your breath smelling fresh and removing bacteria from your mouth.
Proper dental hygiene is important to overall health and wellness. Incorporating these hygiene tips into your daily routine will help you reach your health goals. While some may seem tedious, adding these tips to your morning and night routine will produce big results. Go ahead, eat some Halloween candy, just don’t forget to brush, floss, and rinse!
